Statement by TUV Causeway councillor and party vice chairman Allister Kyle:
“In today’s Irish News convicted IRA bomber and Sinn Fein Benbradagh councillor Sean McGlinchey is quoted in a report on the threatening posters which appeared in Dungiven naming people allegedly linked to the PSNI as saying: “They got it wrong and apologised through myself.”
“Many of us have long suspect that there is a paper wall of difference between Sinn Fein/IRA and Republicans who continue to engage in terrorism. Now a Sinn Fein councillor is acting as a message boy for them!
“It is clear that Councillor McGlinchey has been in contact with those responsible. That being the case, it is imperative that he gives a statement to the PSNI identifying those responsible for this crime. Regardless, the police need to bring him in for questioning in pursuit of bringing those responsible to justice and ensure that anyone responsible withholding information is dealt with. I will be writing to the PSNI about this issue.”
