Statement by TUV Councillor Ron McDowell:
“I have been contacted by members of the public who are concerned that Union flags erected by local Orangemen in the Ballyhackamore area ahead of the Annual Somme parade on Saturday evening have been stolen from lampposts in Kirkliston Park. Those who preach tolerance and respect have no respect for the traditions of the Unionist community and are trying to stoke up tensions ahead of the parade on Saturday. We would urge anyone with information on the theft of these flags to contact the PSNI.”
