Statement by TUV Mid Ulster spokesperson Glenn Moore:
“As Saturday brought the curtain down on the traditional matching season, it is an appropriate juncture to reflect on the success of this year and the contribution which is made to wider society by bands and the Loyal Orders.
“Thounads of pounds have been raised for good causes such as the Air Ambulance and young people have been able to demonstrate their remarkable musical ability thanks to the thriving band scene which exists across Northern Ireland. Once again, we have seen the incredible artwork on the banners and drums.
“It is no wonder that the parades have come back bigger than ever with the Centenary Parade a particular highlight which will live long in the memory of many.
“The responsible attitude adopted during the Covid pandemic showed that the Loyal Orders and bands were capable of providing real leadership, in stark contrast to some elected politicians. Now as we emerge out the other side I am pleased to see that we remain as strong as ever.”
