Statement by TUV Foyle Assembly candidate Elizabeth Neely:
“Today’s controlled explosion in Galliagh Park is a stark reminder of the threat which continues to be posed by Republican terrorism. The disruption to local families in the early hours of the morning is a disgrace and testament to the scourge which terror groups continue to be on communities across Northern Ireland.
“I hope the security forces have success in investigating this troubling incident.
“Those who partner in government an organisation which remains inextricably linked to a terrorist organisation (the PIRA) should be prompted once again to reflect upon their actions.”
