Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:-
“I greatly welcome the rejection by the ECHR of the application by Gareth Lee and its robust rebuke for his attempt to have that court usurp the domestic courts, which at the highest level, the U.K. Supreme Court, rejected his case.
“Hopefully this unequivocal decision will end the agenda of pursuit of Christian bakers for daring to stand up for their beliefs. The law respecting freedom of expression and belief is now settled on this important issue.
“I again commend the McArthur family for the fortitude and grace with which they faced this orchestrated ordeal. They emerge vindicated and the entire Christian community owe them a debt of gratitude for standing up for their rights and facing down the intolerant attempt to force them to act unconscionably.”
