Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:
“Following today’s ruling that the Police Ombudsman’s finding of collusion in in the Loughinisland massacre was “unsustainable in law” Michael Maguire has much to reflect on.
“His report has been branded “careless, thoughtless and inattentive in the language and structuring of the document” and he has been found to have exceeded his legal powers.
“It is hard to think of a more damming verdict. It is time for Dr Maguire to consider his position.”
