Statement by TUV North Belfast Assembly candidate John Miller:
“Clifton Street Orange Hall is one of the most historic in the city of Belfast yet Republican vandals show scant regard for that with their repeated attacks on the property.
“The latest attack cannot be divorced from the Easter Rising commemorations in the city where there was open glorification and celebration of Republicanism’s long tradition of violence and intolerance of all who oppose them.
“This is transparently sectarian. While Republicans can talk about a shared future actions such as this underscore their real attitude towards Unionist culture and traditions. It is telling that while there is no end of fuss if a band plays outside a church an actual attack on an Orange Hall such as this can pass without comment by the media.
“I would appeal for anyone with information to come forward to the PSNI so that those responsible can be brought to justice.”
