Statement by TUV Lagan Valley Assembly candidate Lyle Rea:
“I was deeply saddened to learn of the loss of jobs at McGrath Brothers with over 100 people now left wondering what the future holds.
“This is the latest in a long line of significant blows to the Northern Ireland economy with yet more quality jobs lost.
“McGrath’s had been a major player on the UK stage with involvement in significant projects such as the London Olympics Aquatics Centre.
“This news will mean that there are families with essentials to buy and mortgages to pay but who have a most uncertain future. They will be in my thoughts and prayers.
“Earlier this week my party warned that the Executive’s policy on the economy was not working with even the one big idea of a cut in corporation tax seemingly coming unstuck with Sinn Fein/IRA rowing back on the issue.”
