Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:-
“As the 2011-16 Assembly dissolves today it will not be missed. Its five years were characterised by dysfunctional failure and deadlock. At its outset the First Minister said it should be judged by its delivery. If so, then, by that standard the verdict must be one of failure.
“On 5th May every elector will have the opportunity to pass their verdict. Unless such failure, deadlock and squander is to your liking then voting for the authentic voice of opposition, TUV, will send the clearest demand for change.
“TUV is clear: we reject terrorists in government and the system of rigged devolution that keeps them there. Our vision is no special places for anyone, but devolution based on voluntary coalition and an effective Opposition.
“The basic democratic right to change your government, the right to vote a party out of government and the right to have an opposition are at the heart of the TUV’s positive approach.
“You don’t have to settle for another five years of dysfunctional failure – oh yes, that is what you’ll get if you vote for the same old parties again – but if you want to shake things up, then, strengthen my hand by voting TUV on 5th May. You have nothing to lose but another five years of failure.”
