McDonald Congratulates Ahoghill in Bloom Team on Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service

Statement by TUV Bannside Alderman Stewart McDonald:

“In yesterday’s London Gazette it was announced that Ahoghill in Bloom have been awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

“This is an extremely prestigious honour which is presented to just a handful of groups across the UK who have gone the extra mile in serving their community.

“I am very proud of what the community of Ahoghill has achieved and delighted that the village has been recognised in this fashion.

“Ahoghill has a strong sense of community and there is a genuine pride in keeping the village looking well.”

Local MLA Jim Allister added:

“Hearty congratulations to all those who worked so hard and have rightly achieved this recognition. Such a prestigious award is testament both to the work put into mounting and maintaining the displays and the community spirit within the village. It is a fantastic and well-deserved award for all those who put in so much effort.”
