Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:-
“The trampling of victims seems to know no bounds within the IRA psyche. Hence, the audacious Judicial Review by the murderer of John Proctor, Seamus Kearney, who belatedly is only serving two years for the brutal murder of Mr Proctor as he visited his wife and new born son in hospital.
“Kearney is demanding that he, who showed no mercy to his victim and family, should have extended home leave to attend a GAA match! How disgusting. No wonder, John Proctor’s widow, June McMullan, is outraged and re traumatised again.
“I totally share her outrage.
“Kearney was a merciless killer. John Proctor never got to see his new born son grow up, but Kearney demands he must get to a GAA match. I trust the High Court does not dance to his tune. He’s serving a ridiculously short sentence already, without adding insult to the injury already imposed by the farce of a two year sentence.
“There has been no day release for the family of John Proctor. It would be shameful to pander to Kearney’s self indulgent demand.”
