TUV Demands Police Investigation into NAMA

TUV leader Jim Allister has today written to the Chief Constable in the following terms:

Dear Chief Constable,

I write to express my surprise that to date, it seems, the PSNI has initiated no investigation into the financial transactions surrounding the sale and purchase of the NAMA NI loan book, given the level of disturbing allegations which are in the public domain.

The money laundering laws, the provisions of the Solicitors Order, the requirements of the Criminal Law (NI) Act 1967 and the general provisions relating to the law on conspiracy, all come to mind in the context of siphoning off money to a secret account in the Isle of Man for questionable purposes, and the concealment thereof.

I trust, therefore, that you will ensure the PSNI takes an appropriate and active interest in these significant matters.

Yours sincerely,
Jim Allister
