Statement by TUV Mid Ulster candidate Hannah Loughrin:
“TUV was made aware tonight of a large number of canvass leaflets for Sinn Fein/IRA candidate Ian Milne in Upperlands.
“Upperlands is an overwhelmingly Protestant part of Mid Ulster and to dump literature for a candidate – who was once described as one of the three most wanted terrorists by the RUC – in such an area can only be described as an act of intimidation against the minority community of Mid Ulster.
“This is not just a serious act of littering but an attempt to intimidate the Unionist electorate and I will be asking the PSNI to investigate.
“I am disgusted but not surprised at the antics of Sinn Fein. I hope that this action will serve to motivate the Unionist electorate to come out in greater numbers.”
