Statement by Cllr Stewart McDonald:
“I am delighted that Mid and East Antrim Borough now have two teams in the top flight of football in Northern Ireland now that Carrick Rangers have gained promotion and now join Ballymena United.
“Football fans across the borough now have some exciting football to look forward to next season. I am also pleased that Carrick Rangers have been granted planning permission to update their facilities which will allow them to grow as a club.
“Well done Carrick Rangers.”
