Kincora’s Exclusion from the UK Abuse Inquiry is Wrong

Commenting on the Secretary of State’s announcement that Kincora would not be included in the UK wide abuse Inquiry, TUV vice chair Richard Cairns said:

“There have been many revelations and insinuations over the years in relation to the Kincora abuse scandal that ruined so many young lives. What is needed is the truth about who did it, who knew about and who covered up – and why it was covered up.

“Truth and justice is what is currently absent for many victims. TUV believe that truth and justice would be better served by Kincora being included in the UK Abuse Inquiry and we are disappointed that the Secretary of State has not gone down this line.

“The inability for the HIA to compel witnesses is a major issue, and one that could fatally cripple the Inquiry”.
