Statement by TUV Antrim and Newtownabby councillor David Arthurs:
“I was appalled to learn of Wednesday night’s robbery of a pensioner’s home in Rathcoole.
“It is disgusting that anyone should be on the receiving end of such criminality but it is particularly disturbing when thugs target senior citizens, the most vulnerable in our society.
“My thoughts are with the elderly gentleman who has endured this and I would appeal for anyone with information to come forward to the PSNI so that those responsible can be brought to justice.”
